Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
At the end of this post you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what words they got and how they used them.
I’m using: enthusiastic ~ scintillating ~ jive (i.e. jive ass turkey) ~ beast ~ bubbly

I enthusiastically sat down to blog this post tonight. I had two look up two words/phrases before I could even write this post. It made me realize my loquacious ways don’t imply a large vocabulary.
Did you know scintillating means “sparkling or shining brightly” or “brilliant and excitingly clever”?
At first I was quite excited thinking “Wow! How much of a compliment?!?!” And then I remember we are given each other’s words and phrases at random so it was a fluke. But you know what?? I’ll take any and all compliments I can – self assigned and/or by accident!!
“Jive – Ass Turkey” was another thing I had to look up. And since I”m using my daughter’s laptop the safety mood wouldn’t let me! I got worried. But I searched the web on my phone and learned from the Urban Dictionary, “A damn fool, who constantly acts foolish and ignorant.” As a mom, I often feel like a Jive Ass Turkey – only a damn fool repeatedly asks the same question over and over and expects a different answer from any of her spawn. I mean really, what kid is going to pick up their dirty socks ever if they know that mom will eventually pick them up in a rage of cleaning insanity. That mom must be a Jive Ass Turkey!
That same mom can become the beast known on site as EVIL JOY when she has found herself to be a Jive Ass Turkey for too long. A beast that requires full spawinly participation in whole house pick up. A beast that forces spawn to organize their books in their book shelf. An evil beast who knows the weak points of each and every one of her spawn.
But then her bubbly personality comes through and the beast is laid to rest….for the time being. Because honestly, with the name Joy, being happy and bubbly is expected and required. For more than 50% of the time.
Thanks to Crompets and Bullocks for these awesome words and prompts! I love learning new things!!! Thanks friend!
